Our Team
Meet the Writers
Get to know the talented individuals who bring stories to life with their words. Each writer has a unique style and perspective, enriching our group with creativity and passion.

Dave Putnam
Best-selling author David Putnam comes from a family of law enforcement professionals and always wanted to be a cop. During his career, he did it all: worked in narcotics, served on FBI-sponsored violent crimes teams, and was cross-sworn as a US Marshal operating in Arizona, Nevada, and California.

Judy A. Bernstein
Judy was born and raised in San Diego, California. She has worked extensively with refugees of the Sudanese civil war and co-authored two books recounting her personal experiences.

Gary Nanson

Gary holds a Bachelor's and a Master's degree and writes from the experience of a 33 year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Serving as a policeman in South Central Los Angeles, Gary went on to hold the ranks of Detective, Sergeant and Lieutenant.
A predominant gang expert for the LAPD, Gary also testified as a Narcotics, Tactics, Use of Force and Law Enforcement Procedural expert. Gary retired to Carlsbad along the coastline of San Diego County where he has now begun a new career as an author. It's much safer.

Dan Huston
Dan is the best. Not the best driver, but an incredibly talented writer.

Gerry Tarantino
Gerry Tarantino is a lifelong San Diegan who survived growing up as the eldest of ten children born over the course of only eleven years, essentially a three-ring circus with far too many clowns. She attended boarding school at Convent of the Sacred Heart and graduated from the University of San Diego where she majored in Political Science. After spending thirty-two years coordinating emergency care, she traded medical logistics for manuscript deadlines. When she's not entertaining her large family, and tending her garden and vineyard, she's busy cooking up stories and weeding out unnecessary words. Her debut memoir, 36 Men, 6 Months, One Love, proves that life's biggest detours often lead to the best chapters.

Secret Service Susan retired to an orchard in De Luz, California, where she furthers her new career as an author.

Tyler McKenzie
thewolfparticle.com
Tyler McKenzie’s global perspective is informed by his extensive travel and life abroad, as well as professional years in hard-news journalism, television production, feature film development, and as an entrepreneur and business owner. Throughout this wide-ranging experience, he’s seen up close the profound, destabilizing effects that domestic and global macro-economic and geopolitical forces can have on local economies and communities. McKenzie finesses these forces onto the page in his debut novel, a globe-trotting thriller. When he isn’t plotting a literary end to humanity, he enjoys a quiet life with his wife, two dogs, and three fish.

Bill Neal
The essence of life is manifest in the written and spoken word.
Bill Neal creates from unique and diversified experiences. Peer critique refines. The science in
plot is backed by degrees in chemistry and medicine. He worked at the Haight Ashbury Free
Clinic, Indiana State Prison, Kalamazoo alcohol and drug rehab. Further clinical experiences
included primary care with the Amish, ob-gyn, urgent care, and preventive medicine. His
career closed after and additional seventeen years in general surgery, specializing in thoracic
and trauma surgery. He endured the challenges of the Covid pandemic, and retired after fifty
years in field of medicine. He’s married to an exceptional woman, has four wonderful adult
kids, and eight grandkids (with more to come). Interests that influence his writing include
biblical studies, fitness, psychology, medicine, history, politics, bioterrorism, weapons, aviation,
and sailing.
